ABSTRACT

Na2[Zn2(TeO3)3].3H2O. This quinary compound, which crystallizes in the hexagonal structure with the lattice parameters a = 939.5 ± 0.1 and c = 773.3 ± 0.01 pm and a calculated density of 4.256 g·cm-3, is formed in this system (Miletich 1995b). Its single crystals were grown under hydrothermal conditions. Synthesis experiments were started from the mixture of ZnO + TeO2 with Zn/Te = 2:3 (atomic ratio). A saturated solution of 1-2 mL of NaOH and H2O was added to set the pH of the aqueous mixture to values ≥9.
