ABSTRACT

The majority of the population in Pakistan live in rural areas (about 65% of the total population) which do not have access to any kind of healthcare. Moreover, the situation in hospitals in adjoining semiurban and urban areas is not much better due to lack of staff and equipment. In our work, we tried to address these problems by using modern information and communication technology, since in recent years, the country has experienced a rapid rise in the ICT infrastructure. There has been a substantial increase in Internet and mobile phone usage all over the country. The JTHS has been designed such that it can make use of this existing infrastructure to provide quality healthcare [3]. However, in the process the JTHS has quickly evolved into a full-fledged epidemic-tracking system.
