ABSTRACT

In order to improve eciency, the sonographer should determine the approximate sequence of ultrasound images that will be acquired during the transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) study prior to inserting the probe. In eect, this decision can be simplified by establishing whether this will be a comprehensive or goal-directed study. This chapter will review the recommended TEE views to complete a basic TEE study, as well as describe options for TEE probe manipulation.
