ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the operational principles and implementation of mode-locked fiber lasers operating in nonlinear region via the optical saturated amplification or the photonic interactions of the pump sources and generated lightwaves. It is believed that multi-bound solitons can only be formed if at the initial state a single soliton is generated in a nonlinear resonator for the evolution to multi-bound soliton. The nonlinear fiber ring type is the typical resonance cavity in which the phase of the optical waves under the soliton envelope can be a basic structure for forming multi-bound solitonic waves.
