ABSTRACT

Nuclear reaction d + t → α + n or 3H(d,n)4He has a Q value Q = 17.590 MeV. e energy released in this reaction appears in the form of kinetic energy of the 4He and the neutron, which can be converted into heat and subsequently electrical energy. In terms of per gram of starting material, this reaction is one of the most ecient sources of nuclear energy in the universe.
