ABSTRACT
Armour materials are subjected to large forces in very short timescales. In fact, they are doing their job very well if they are able to accommodate these forces. Therefore, to understand the behaviour of an armour material that has been impacted by a bullet or fragment from an exploding shell, or subjected to an explosive blast wave, we must take a look at its properties.
