ABSTRACT

Many people think human trafficking is an issue for other countries or, domestically, large cities. However, this is not just an issue on a national and global scale but for every small town across the country. This chapter specifically deals with the issue of domestic minor sex trafficking, or DMST. Although many people will think of this issue in terms of “prostitution” or as a victimless crime, it is not. This becomes clearer when you realize the average age of entry to this world is 12 to 13 years of age, from what I have seen in the middle of the country in Wichita, Kansas.
