ABSTRACT
Every successful supply chain construction project follows a process that builds to a blueprint. This chapter begins the journey with an explanation of the Eight-Step Process to a successful supply chain construction project. The project might be to build a new supply chain or to modify an existing one. The project might be a forward supply chain that manufactures and distributes products to markets or a reverse supply chain that accumulates product from the field for remanufacturing and recycling. No matter, the Eight-Step Process described in this chapter and the Supply Chain Construction Blueprint detailed throughout this book covers all such projects.
