ABSTRACT

Clinical Signs A sudden onset of hyperesthesia, muscle rigidity, incoordination, tetanic seizures, and protrusion of the third eyelid similar to strychnine poisoning has been reported in cattle.3 Treatment of affected animals requires the use of drugs such as diazepam or anesthetics to help control seizures. Heavy sedation, a quiet environment, and intravenous fluid therapy should be given as necessary.
