Terminal stalks on legs (I and II of females, and I, II, and IV of males; other legs terminate in setae) are long and unsegmented with suckerlike terminations. Egg about 200 µm long. Adult Habitat: Burrows in skin. Similar Species: None. Range: World. Clinical Signs: Pruritis, hyperkeratosis, alopecia, and self-inflicted trauma. Lesions typically begin on face or knees. Tx: Two approved products, but often treated with bovine ivermectin administered at 200 µg/kg body weight.
