ABSTRACT

This book starts with the models and optimization techniques used in the search and screening theory and overviews the main algorithms of search, including the algorithms of search for moving target. These methods provide the distributions of search efforts over a domain, which describe the search by a group of abstract agents with strongly centralized coordination and control. Such methods were originated during World War II and nowadays are applied in different military and security applications for navigation and positioning of automatic agents and for prediction of the enemies’ and crimes’ behavior.
