ABSTRACT
This case history describes the development and evolution of a bulk packaging system. Although the concept first appeared in the 1950s it is not widely known, and shippers who are unaware of its. existence do not ask specifically for it. The intent of this case history is to thoroughly familiarize bulk packaging designers with the method and its potential, so they may be in a position to recommend it as an alternative system for certain kinds of products that are packaged and shipped in bulk containers.
