ABSTRACT
When working a case, investigators must consider the possible defenses a perpetrator (or his or her attorney) may raise as an alternative theory for the injury. Understanding what the common defenses are will allow the investigator to ask questions early on that may preclude the perpetrator from being able to successfully raise those alternative theories.
