ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we continue with the discussion of exploratory ideas on social networks/media. In particular, we will discuss aspects of developing multilevel social networks (MLS/OSNs) following along the lines of the definition of multilevel database management systems (MLS/DBMSs) designed and developed mainly in the 1980s. In an MLS/DBMS, users are cleared at different clearance levels, such as Unclassified, Confidential, Secret, and TopSecret. Data is assigned different sensitivity levels, such as Unclassified, Confidential, Secret, and TopSecret (Thuraisingham, 2005). Similarly, we have defined an MLS/OSN that enables users cleared at different security levels to access and share information at different sensitivity levels with their peers or friends also cleared at different security levels.
