ABSTRACT

Although Lean Six Sigma can lead to tremendous positive results for organizations, if the process is not implemented properly it can lead to negative consequences as well. This chapter discusses several of the common pitfalls that should be understood and avoided before an organization implements Lean Six Sigma. The pitfalls listed in the following sections are presented in the order of highest impact to lowest impact; recommendations and best practices to avoid these pitfalls are additionally discussed in Chapter 11.
