ABSTRACT
A 52-year-old man is found to have an abnormal blood count during the course of routine investigation. He is in good health with no symptoms. He has never suffered excessive bleeding following previous surgery but just before his appointment in the haematology clinic he falls and injures his left arm (Figure 37a).
