ABSTRACT

This chapter explores different avenues of the literature such as journals, conferences, symposiums, and books in pursuit of physics- and chemistry-based algorithms and makes an exhaustive effort to assimilate those algorithms with pseudocodes, examples, and applications based on an updated literature survey. The physics-based algorithms are: Big Bang–Big Crunch (BB–BC) algorithm, black hole algorithm, galaxy-based search (GbS), artificial physics optimization (APO), integrated radiation search (IRS), space gravitation optimization (SGO), gravitational interactions optimization (GIO), charged system search (CSS), hysteretic optimization (HO), colliding bodies optimization (CBO), ray optimization (RO), extremal optimization (EO), particle collision algorithm (PCA), river formation dynamics (RFD) and water cycle algorithm (WCA). The chemistry-based algorithms are: artificial chemical process algorithm (ACPA), artificial chemical reaction optimization algorithm (ACROA), chemical reaction algorithm (CRA) and Gases Brownian motion optimization (GBMO). The chapter presents these algorithms in a concise form describing the basic idea, working mechanisms, variants, and their applications.
