Safety: Acetate anhydride and thionyl chloride are very reactive with water and will cause severe burns on contact. Thionyl chloride will produce toxic HCl gas on contact with water. Handle those reagents in the hood and wear gloves in addition to goggles. Pyridine is toxic and will cause irritation.
