ABSTRACT
In this chapter we generalize what we’ve learned about Q[x], the ring of polynomials with rational coefficients, by replacing the rational numbers by entries from an arbitrary field. We will discover that the resulting rings behave very similarly to Q[x], and hence to the ring Z as well.
