ABSTRACT

Crisis. The word means different things to many different people. For example, in 2008, the United States suffered a nancial crisis that is still affecting the economies of the United States and the world to a certain extent. Many scholars attribute this nancial crisis to the housing bubble and the bursting that followed, when what many labeled the subprime mortgage crisis slowly enveloped US and world markets. The nancial crisis of 2008 was a huge event of an intangible nature to many, unless one lost a job as a result of the downturn in housing starts, credit swaps and defaults, or if a house was lost to foreclosure. One tangible effect of the housing bubble bursting and the subsequent nancial crisis was that many corporations spent less on security and crisis management apparatus and systems, and on hiring security and crisis management professionals. This caused a personal nancial crisis for persons in these professions.
