ABSTRACT
Similarly to the cases of bars and shafts, a beam is a one-dimensional mechanical element for
which the length is much larger than the cross-section dimensions. The Cartesian reference system
is located at the geometric center (GC) of the left end cross-section, as illustrated in Figure 5.1.
