ABSTRACT
Structural engineers consider these loads when designing building structures. The design must consider the structural properties of materials, such as steel or concrete, including yield strength, ultimate strength, and modulus of elasticity. Material properties used in designs are most often assessed at the ambient building temperatures. However, these properties change with temperature rise during a re event.
