ABSTRACT

After a 20-year stint as a banker in Washington, DC, Theron decided he would begin working on a plan to transition out of his day job and

invest most of his savings into opening a coffee shop of his own. His vision for the coffee shop was not that of a large-chain coffee shop, which relied on expansion, duplication, quality, and consistency to support the bottom line. Theron’s model was different; he simply wanted to own one coffee shop, but he wanted that one single shop to be world class.
