ABSTRACT
Real analysis is the study of real numbers, sets of real numbers, and functions on sets of real numbers. In this chapter, we study sequences of real numbers and their properties.
Sequences play an important role in mathematics. In calculus, you undoubtedly discussed sequences of real numbers prior to studying series. In the broadest sense, a sequence is a function whose domain is the set of natural numbers. For example, a sequence can be a sequence of sets, a sequence of intervals, a sequence of functions, and so forth. In this chapter, we devote our attention to sequences of real numbers.
