It is known that Six Sigma is useful to detect defects, while Lean is useful for removal of sources of waste. The ner differences can be viewed in Table 18.1.

It must be kept in mind that both the products are aligned toward customer satisfaction and bring about continuous improvement to achieve this. Variation is reduced and process is recovered to be more stable. However, Six Sigma proves to be capable of producing large returns sooner and push the organization to “greatness.”
