ABSTRACT

Now it is time to address training, about which, up to this point, we have not said many positive things. And we have not done so with good reason because (and here it comes, another one of those heavy statements) the way most current approaches to training are designed does not produce the best possible results. Employees do not get what they could and should get from the involved activities. Too frequently they absorb little that is relevant to their work, little that will help improve their performance. Frequently, the main challenge they have to deal with during training sessions is staying awake.
