ABSTRACT

One of the follow-up questions we must ask at this point is, What steps should we take once management decides that a cooperative environment is more beneficial than one that generates competition or conflict, once management puts into place an evaluation and reward system that encourages the desired cooperation? This can be further broken down into the following questions: How should we organize or reorganize our management systems so that they support the desired change? How do we get things done; how do we accomplish our objectives in this new world? Will the traditional management hierarchy still work? Will it allow the company to make use of employee expertise? Will it allow employees to contribute in the way that they can and should? Or do we need something new; do we need to design a new way to make

decisions, to gather and make effective use of the information on which improvements are based?
