ABSTRACT
The PACU should provide a safe environment for patients to recover from surgery and anesthesia. It should be located close to the operating theater to limit time spent between transferring patients, especially if there is a lack of portable monitoring devices. It should be large enough to accommodate the maximum number of patients expected to be recovering at one time.
