ABSTRACT
The purpose of the information flow on the VSM is to illustrate the impact that information processing has on physical material processing, and to show how information is managed and transformed to create schedules for the manufacturing floor. The information flow is there to explain how we know what customers need and then how we control our operations to satisfy those needs.
