ABSTRACT
Originally a very inefficient machine, the axia JW compressor was not used to compress air in the gas turbine power plant. However, the dev*"L opment of the science of aerodynamics, which accompanied the dev opment of high performance aircraft, made possible its present use in gas-turbines. Now a highly efficient machine, it must be studied and understood thoroughly by engineers.
