ABSTRACT
The primary objective of commercial producers in applying fertilizers is to make a profit. The extent to which their use of fertilizers contributes to this objective depends not only upon the kinds and amounts of fertilizers they apply, the way they apply them, and the crop responses that result, but also upon the costs of fertilization and the prices received for the crops. Both the physical and economic realities must be recognized.
