ABSTRACT

In Chapter 8, we introduced the concept of blocking in factorial designs with the purpose of removing an unwanted source of variation. We will now show how such a source of variation will inflate the noise (or error) in an experiment unless it is treated properly. Table 18.1 is a reproduction of the random assignment of acres to the 16 treatment combinations as first found in Chapter 8. We have now added the response, plant growth in inches, and will do the analysis.
