ABSTRACT

Copper vapour lasers (CVL) have been known for more than 40 years [1-4]. Modelling of the laser was conducted in a large number of papers. Nevertheless, many fundamental issues remain unresolved to this day and the solution of some of them there has been suggested only in recent times. In addition, the development and improvement of the lasers has been continuing. For example, in recent years many papers have been devoted to kinetically enhanced copper vapour lasers, whose lasing characteristics are improved by introducing small amounts (in percentage) of impurities in the active medium.
