ABSTRACT

It is not very frequent to gain consensus in IT, but all agree that there is always more work to do than the resources available. Finance, operations, marketing, and sales all have IT requests that simply add up to create unending work for the IT department. On top of all that, IT managers must stay current with customer requirements, regulatory needs, as well as technology changes like Software as a Service (SaaS) and Cloud Computing. Is the solution to just pump in more money? How do we nd the right balance? e challenge is to verify that IT dollars are spent on the right things, and just as importantly, at the right time. e answer to this important question depends on how IT is governed in the enterprise.
