ABSTRACT

Insufficient scope management is a prime cause for project distress and sometimes even failure. Ensuring the project is building the right thing and only the right thing to meet the business need is the purpose of the scope management processes. All project managers live under the threat of the triple constraint: scope, time, and cost. As experienced project managers know, time and cost become fixed, almost frozen, parameters after planning is complete (or even before); therefore, scope management is of paramount importance to staying within budget and on time.
