ABSTRACT

Globalization has increased the capabilities of global trade and logistics networks, but at the same time, it has exposed our supply chains to a multitude of risks, both natural and man-made. While the public and private sectors adopt a number of security regulations, risk assessment, and analysis protocols, technology is the catalyst to prevent, deter, and recuperate potential security threats. For this reason, modern security professionals need to assume a proactive stance in order to see the big picture; identify risks, gaps, and potential vulnerabilities in the entire supply chain; and finally avert or mitigate those risks. Innovative technologies have become a mainstream business trend and requirement that are supported to combat security threats.
