ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the diverse aspects of security that impact the resiliency of supply chains. Such security threats may be motivated by financial, commercial, political, ideological, or other motives. Based upon the principle that commercial disruptions have a direct impact on the security of societies and nations, it is not uncommon for any illegitimate activities such as drug smuggling, piracy, security, and human trafficking to have a commercial, social, and national security impact.
