ABSTRACT
Creep strain curves for metals, plastics, rock, ice, and some other materials often exhibit a highly nonlinear dependence on stress. Accordingly, the linear viscoelastic constitutive laws presented previously, where strain was linearly related to stress, are then not applicable for such materials. Furthermore, the Laplac;e transformation is unfortunately usually not applicable for such cases.
