ABSTRACT

Based upon my experience, the best way to begin creating your pool of probable candidates is a meeting facilitated by the Human Resource department with representatives from all the various departments such as Manufacturing, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.), Quality, Production Control and Logistics, Purchasing, Maintenance, etc. The purpose of this meeting is for the various representatives to nominate employees, both salaried and hourly, for the Lean Discipline Expert process. Let’s discuss some advice for selecting Lean Discipline Expert candidates and some tips on what attributes to look for as well as some tips on what to watch out for.
