ABSTRACT
As you review the Value Stream Mapping LDE checklist (Table 5.1), there are two characteristics that I think are critical attributes for your Value Stream Mapping Lean Discipline Expert candidate:
1. A person who can envision the “big picture” or what the future may look like if you do this or that
2. A person with very good eyes for waste and flow
I believe these to be critical attributes because the Value Stream Map is your battle plan for attacking waste and non-value-added items such as safety, inventory, motion, people, quality, equipment, and standard work in a single value stream, plant value stream, or an enterprise value stream.
