ABSTRACT
Sites near significant point sources of contaminants should be avoided or evaluated carefully. Such locations would include fossil fuel power plants, refineries, asphalt plants, printing operations, and dry cleaners. A Phase I review, where these are examined, should be considered. This review is done by environmental firms and includes an onsite inspection, baseline analysis of the prospective location, and a review of public documents from local, state, and federal regulations.
