ABSTRACT

At one time, GPSS had no equal sign that made doing arithmetic a bit awkward. There also were no ampervariables. GPSS/H was quick to correct these shortcomings. The way arithmetic was done was by means of Blocks known as SAVEVALUES. While these are rarely used today, there are a few examples where they can be used. One might see their use in older GPSS or even GPSS/H programs. SAVEVALUES are user-defined SNAs. They are so named as they are values that are saved.

These values are printed out in the output report, except for zero values. GPSS/H has four different types of these SAVEVALUES. They are as follows:
