ABSTRACT
Any design process must start with identifying and understanding the environment in which the vehicle, structure or engineering device/facility is to function. Such products operating in the marine environment include ships and marine transportation vehicles required for both trade and military purposes, underwater vehicles for exploration and war, structures for exploration and exploitation of living and nonliving resources, tourism vehicles and facilities, ports as interface between land and sea and coastal structures.
