ABSTRACT
The transmission eigenvalue (TE) problem first appeared in the analysis of in-
verse problems in Kirsch [170] and in more generality in Colton and Monk [94].
The main goal at that time was to show that transmission eigenvalues can be easily
avoided such that qualitative methods, e.g., the linear sampling method, can be used
to reconstruct the unknown target.
