ABSTRACT

In recent decades, modern medicine has been challenged with complex problems that have led to technological advancements in the area of healthcare [1]. However, in the domain of tissue engineering, a multidisciplinary eld combining the principles of biology, medicine, and engineering, which aims at replacing damaged, injured, or missing organs and tissues with a functional articial substitute, numerous complex problems still remain. Besides the cell-material interaction, the antibacterial properties also play an important role in medical implants.
