ABSTRACT

Optimization problems in which infinite many constraints appear in finitely many variables are referred to as semi-infinite programming problems. These problems arise in several areas of modern research such as Chebyshev approximation, robotics, economics, optimal control, and engineering. See for example, Hettich and Still [103], Kaplan and Tichatschke [130], Still [261], Lopez and Still [169], Shapiro [253], and Flaudas and Pardalos [83]. Hettich and Kortanek [102] have presented theoretical results, methodologies, and applications of semi-infinite programming.
