ABSTRACT
Imagine a game of soccer without a score. The players compete for 90 minutes but nobody records the number of goals during the game, so at game’s end nobody knows who won or lost. Imagine instead that game scores are tallied at the end of each month, and the cumulative scores are announced in the middle of the following month. I am sure you agree that this would be a fairly pointless exercise for the players and for the fans.
