ABSTRACT
Apart from its size, there are a number of factors that make a small to medium-sized manufacturing enterprise different. First, it is likely that the person with overall responsibility for leading the site will have a direct personal connection with everyone working in the plant, as well as a close connection with the company’s top executives. That person’s title will probably be one of the following: manufacturing manager, plant manager, general manager, or operations manager. For purposes of this book, we will call him or her the “manufacturing manager.”
