n For a chemical reaction to take place, chemical molecules must come in contact with each other. When the concentration of a chemical reactant within a given space or volume is increased, the probability that two molecules will interact with each other is greatly increased. Therefore, as the concentration of a chemical agent in a specific volume increases, so does the rate at which a chemical agent will react with the environment.
