Lean across the Organization

Lean can be a bit of a Rorschach test. We can all spell it, we all might define it somewhat differently, and companies have put their own brand on their business system. Toyota, of course, is well known for its Toyota Production System (TPS), which defines its business operating system. Toyota is also committed to managing for results and continuously improving the means to deliver those results. The phrase business operating system refers to a standard, enterprise-wide collection of business processes used in many companies and includes the common structure, principles, and practices necessary to drive the organization.
